🥛 Bihar Expands Dairy Processing with New Sudha Curd and Lassi Plant

Bihar has taken another step towards strengthening its dairy sector with the foundation stone laying of a 20 metric tonne per day (MTPD) curd and lassi processing plant in Nalanda. The new facility will enhance Sudha’s value-added dairy production capacity and support the state’s growing dairy industry.

🏗️ Boosting Dairy Processing Capacity

The plant, to be established at the Biharsharif Dairy Project, will significantly increase Sudha’s production of curd and lassi, helping the cooperative meet rising consumer demand for value-added dairy products while expanding its market presence.

🤝 Supporting White Revolution 2.0

The project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” vision and the objectives of White Revolution 2.0, which focus on strengthening dairy cooperatives, improving milk value addition, and enhancing farmers’ incomes across India.

🌾 Empowering Dairy Farmers

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary praised COMFED and Bihar’s dairy cooperative network for their contribution to the rural economy. He expressed confidence that Sudha will continue to grow into a globally competitive dairy brand, creating employment opportunities, expanding dairy processing, and delivering greater value to milk producers.

📈 Strengthening Bihar’s Dairy Sector

Officials from the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department highlighted COMFED’s achievements and emphasized that expanding processing infrastructure will improve market access, encourage further investment, and strengthen Bihar’s position in India’s rapidly growing dairy industry.
