Cargill Expands Engerwitzdorf Facility to Boost Micronutrition Capacity and Sustainability

Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health (ANH) has completed a major expansion of its Engerwitzdorf facility in Austria, increasing production capacity by 50% to 30,000 metric tons annually. The investment supports rising demand for micronutrition solutions that enhance animal health and performance through precision nutrition.

The expansion is part of Cargill’s strategy to strengthen its Micronutrition & Health Solutions business, launched in 2024, which integrates the expertise of Diamond V, Delacon, and Provimi. The combined portfolio delivers science-based innovations across phytogenics, postbiotics, enzymes, and anti-mycotoxin agents, achieving consistent double-digit growth in recent years.

The upgraded facility features six new silos, automation covering 90% of operations, and a biomass-powered heating system. Powered entirely by renewable energy, 70% hydropower and 30% solar, it embodies Cargill’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental stewardship.

“This investment enhances our ability to produce sustainably and deliver precision nutrition at scale,” said Gilles Houdart, Global Head of Micronutrition & Health Solutions.

With these advancements, Cargill positions itself as a leader in sustainable, data-driven animal nutrition, supporting the dairy and livestock industries’ shift toward functional and resilient feed systems.
