๐ง Chhattisgarh Bans Non-Standard Dairy Analog Products to Protect Consumers
The Chhattisgarh government has imposed an immediate ban on the manufacture, processing, storage, transportation, distribution and sale of non-standard dairy analog products across the state. The move aims to prevent the marketing of imitation dairy products that resemble genuine milk-based items and may mislead consumers.
The order, issued by the Public Health and Family Welfare Department, follows an announcement by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal and has been implemented under Sections 18 and 30 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

- ๐ง Butter
- ๐ฅ Cream
The ban specifically targets products that:
- ๐ซ Use vegetable fats or oils instead of milk fat.
- ๐ฆ Carry deceptive packaging, labelling or product displays.
- โ ๏ธ Mislead consumers by imitating natural dairy products.
โ Products Exempted
The state government clarified that certain standardized products regulated under existing food standards are not included in the ban.

๐ Duration of the Order
According to the notification, the restriction will remain effective for one year from the date of publication in the official gazette, or until the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issues final regulations governing dairy analog products, whichever occurs first.
