Maahi MPO Introduces GauSort Technology to Accelerate Genetic Improvement and Strengthen Dairy Farmer Prosperity

Gujarat, India: In a major step towards advancing scientific livestock breeding and improving dairy productivity, Maahi Milk Producer Organisation (Maahi MPO) has launched GauSort, India’s indigenously developed gender-sorted semen technology. The initiative was inaugurated by Dr Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and NDDB Dairy Services (NDS), in the presence of Maahi MPO’s Board Members and dairy stakeholders.

The launch marks an important milestone in India’s efforts to modernise livestock breeding practices, improve dairy herd genetics, and create sustainable income opportunities for dairy farmers. By increasing the probability of female calf births, GauSort is expected to help farmers expand productive dairy herds, improve milk yields, and enhance long-term farm profitability.

GauSort has been developed by the National Dairy Development Board with support from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, under the flagship National Gokul Mission.
