Milky Mist Joins Hands with MilkLane to Ensure Traceable Milk – DairyDimension

Milky Mist and MilkLane Forge ₹400 Crore Partnership to Elevate Dairy Quality and Traceability in India

In a move poised to reshape quality benchmarks in India’s dairy sector, Milky Mist has partnered with MilkLane, the dairy and cattle feed arm of agri-tech platform Innoterra. This ₹400 crore strategic agreement ensures the supply of 100 kilolitres of premium, traceable milk per day over three years—reinforcing Milky Mist’s position as a leader in value-added dairy products.

MilkLane will deploy its extensive farmer network and state-of-the-art quality assurance systems, including its 100% Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) network, stainless steel (SS) can collection, and stringent testing protocols for antibiotics and adulterants. Every drop of milk will be tracked in real-time, offering full supply chain transparency and guaranteeing consistent quality.

This partnership directly benefits over 10,000 dairy farmers, providing fair pricing and scientifically designed, high-nutrition cattle feed solutions. It strengthens the dairy value chain by addressing core industry challenges—such as variable fat and SNF content, contamination risks, and lack of traceability.

Milky Mist, renowned for its fully automated 75-acre processing facility in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, processes over 1.5 million litres of milk daily. With a strong focus on sustainability, the company integrates renewable energy into its operations and is continually expanding its portfolio of innovative, value-added dairy products.

“This partnership reflects our joint commitment to quality, transparency, and sustainability,” said Harish Sharma, Managing Director of MilkLane. “We address the dairy sector’s core challenges through technology, farmer-first models, and uncompromising quality checks. By combining forces with Milky Mist, we aim to redefine industry standards.”

Dr. K Rathnam, CEO of Milky Mist, added, “A stable supply of rigorously tested, premium milk is critical for our operations. With MilkLane as our partner, we are not only enhancing product quality but also empowering farmers. This collaboration strengthens our ability to scale, innovate, and deliver the safest dairy products to Indian households.”

As the world’s largest dairy producer and consumer, India’s demand for traceable, safe, and high-quality milk continues to rise. This collaboration sets a new benchmark in ensuring quality and consistency—benefiting both producers and consumers alike.
