Paras Dairy Enters Cream Cheese Market With Galacia Launch at Anuga Select India

Paras Dairy, the dairy brand of VRS Foods Limited, has entered India’s cream cheese market with the launch of Galacia Cream Cheese at Anuga Select India in Mumbai. The new product expands the company’s cheese portfolio as it seeks to address growing demand for cream cheese across bakeries, cafes, hotels, restaurants, food-service businesses and the home-baking segment.

The launch represents another step in Paras Dairy’s expansion in the value-added cheese category. The company has invested more than ₹100 crore in its cheese business, with the investment aimed at strengthening manufacturing capabilities, expanding its product portfolio and supporting the growing demand for cheese products in India.

Galacia Cream Cheese is being positioned as an ingredient for both sweet and savoury applications. Its targeted uses include cheesecakes, frostings, desserts, sandwiches, wraps, dips and spreads.

Focus on Professional Food-Service Applications

Paras Dairy is entering the cream cheese category at a time when the ingredient is being used across a wider range of bakery and food-service products. According to the company, the institutional segment accounts for approximately 85–90% of India’s cream cheese demand, making professional users an important target market.

Bakeries, cake shops, cafes, hotels, restaurants, cloud kitchens and quick-service restaurants are among the businesses that the company intends to reach. Home bakers will also form part of the target consumer base.

For professional kitchens, consistency and functionality are important considerations when selecting cream cheese. Paras Dairy plans to support its market entry through product sampling, application trials and engagement with bakery-specialist chefs.

The company plans to undertake product sampling and conversion initiatives in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi to introduce Galacia Cream Cheese to professional users. Chef engagement and recipe trials are expected to form an important part of the strategy.

Gajinder Nagar, Joint Managing Director of VRS Foods Ltd, said the launch represents an important step in Paras Dairy’s expansion in the value-added cheese segment. He highlighted product consistency, manufacturing expertise, cold-chain management and application performance as important factors in the specialised category.

VPS Malik, Chief Marketing Officer of VRS Foods Ltd, said cream cheese is becoming increasingly relevant across India’s evolving bakery and food-service industry. The company intends to build adoption through product experience, chef engagement and application-focused sampling.

400g and 1kg Formats for Different Users

Galacia Cream Cheese will be available in 400g and 1kg packs. The 400g format is intended for smaller bakeries and home bakers, while the larger 1kg pack is primarily aimed at hotels, restaurants, cafes and other professional food-service operators.

The product has been developed with a soft and smooth consistency, creamy taste and rich texture. Its applications range from desserts and cheesecakes to savoury products such as sandwiches, wraps and dips.

Maintaining a 2–4°C cold chain will be another important part of the company’s approach to the category, particularly because professional customers require consistent product quality and reliable handling throughout the supply chain.

Expanding India’s Value-Added Cheese Segment

Galacia Cream Cheese builds on Paras Dairy’s existing presence in the Mozzarella and cheese block categories across North, West and South India. The company currently has a distribution network of more than 300 distributors and market coverage spanning over 125 cities, according to the company.

The cream cheese launch gives Paras Dairy an opportunity to broaden its presence in a specialised segment of the Indian cheese market. With professional food-service applications accounting for a significant share of demand, the company’s emphasis on chef trials, product sampling and cold-chain management will be central to its market-entry strategy.

With more than ₹100 crore already invested in its cheese business, Paras Dairy is positioning Galacia Cream Cheese as part of a broader effort to expand its value-added dairy portfolio and participate in India’s developing bakery, food-service and home-baking markets.
