Anand, Gujarat | May 24–25, 2025 — The National Dairy Cell Convention of Sahakar Bharati concluded successfully with a two-day event held at the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) auditorium in Anand, Gujarat. The convention brought together prominent leaders from India’s cooperative dairy sector, scientists, farmers, and women entrepreneurs across the country.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, led by:

🐄 Day 1 Highlights: Success Stories, Science & Breed Innovation
The first session featured Shri Shankar Bhai Chaudhary, Chairman of Banas Dairy and Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, who shared success stories from Banas Dairy’s journey, offering insights into the growth of India’s largest dairy cooperative.
In the second session, NDDB scientists and technical experts discussed strategies to improve milk quality and productivity with dairy farmers, emphasising modern scientific techniques and field-level implementation.
The third session was led by Dr. Kataria, Vice Chancellor of Anand Agricultural University. He presented his research on Indigenous cattle breeds, followed by Shri Gopal Ji, who delivered a compelling lecture on cow-based sustainable agriculture and its benefits to rural economies.
🌾 Day 2: Amul’s Success Blueprint & Voices of Women in Dairy
The second day was headlined by Shri Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul Dairy, who shared the brand’s journey and detailed how Amul empowers dairy farmers, offering marketing, technology, and productivity support. He also responded to queries from farmers regarding enhancing milk yield and improving dairy business models.
One of the event's key highlights was the experience-sharing by successful women entrepreneurs in the dairy sector, including Gayatri Ben, Mittal Ben, and Meena Ben, among others. Their stories underscored the vital role of women in rural dairy enterprises.
🗣️ Closing Session: Cooperative Vision for a Dairy-Rich Nation
Shri Sanjay Pachpor, National Organising Secretary of Sahakar Bharati, addressed the gathering in the valedictory session. He emphasised that cooperative models must ensure quality, purity, and sufficient milk supply to every household, while promoting value-added dairy products as a viable business model.
