Findability Sciences has launched Lacta Insight™, an operational intelligence product designed to help dairy processors improve yield, stabilise production, enhance quality and reduce energy losses. The product is part of the company’s LactaAI™ platform for the dairy industry and will be available in India from September 2026.
Lacta Insight™ connects data from production, laboratory, quality, maintenance and enterprise systems to help dairy plants identify developing losses, investigate process deviations and determine appropriate interventions.
India produced 247.87 million tonnes of milk during 2024-25 and remains the world’s largest milk-producing country. At this scale, even relatively small improvements in milk recovery, process stability and energy efficiency can have a significant impact on dairy processors.
Dairy plants face several operational challenges because milk composition can vary according to factors such as season, herd and source. Equipment performance can also change over time. While individual measurements may remain within acceptable limits, multiple small changes can occur simultaneously and indicate an emerging production problem.
According to Findability Sciences, plants may only identify the resulting losses after laboratory testing or yield reconciliation. By that stage, lost milk solids cannot be recovered.

The company said Lacta Insight™ is designed to bring information from different plant systems together rather than requiring operators to investigate individual alarms separately.
Anand Mahurkar, Founder and CEO of Findability Sciences, said dairy plants already possess much of the information required to identify operational losses, but the data is often distributed across different systems. Lacta Insight™ is designed to connect those signals and help plant teams understand changes while production is still underway.
The system can connect with existing PLC, SCADA, DCS, ERP, MES, LIMS and process historian environments. According to the company, processors do not need to replace their existing systems or install additional sensors simply to begin using the product.
Lacta Insight™ can also operate within a plant’s operational technology environment, allowing production data to remain at the facility. A hosted deployment option is available as well, while customers retain ownership of their process data.
The product currently supports butter, milk powder, milk protein concentrate and whey processing lines. It can also be configured for cheese and other dairy processes. Processors can initially deploy the technology on a single priority production line and subsequently extend it to additional lines.
Indian Dairy Processor Evaluation
Findability Sciences said Lacta Insight™ is currently being evaluated by a major Indian dairy processor. The identity of the processor has not been disclosed while the evaluation is ongoing.
The company’s implementation approach begins with an assessment of the plant’s existing data and current performance. Specific operational targets are then established. These may include reducing solids losses, improving recovery, shortening investigation times, lowering quality deviations or reducing energy consumption.
The company said this approach allows dairy processors to establish a measurable baseline and assess the operational impact of the technology.
Lacta Insight™ will be available in India from September 2026 as part of the LactaAI™ platform. Findability Sciences is also offering dairy processors a complimentary 30-minute Dairy AI Readiness Assessment to evaluate whether their existing plant data can support a focused implementation.
The launch reflects the growing use of artificial intelligence and connected data systems in dairy processing, where manufacturers are increasingly seeking ways to improve resource utilisation, production consistency and operational decision-making.
