Sardar Cattle Feed Builds Animal Nutrition Business From 1984

Sardar Cattle Feed, a brand with roots dating back to 1984, is expanding its position in India’s livestock nutrition sector under Sudharma Animal Nutrition Pvt. Ltd. The business, originally established as Shri Sudharma Industries by Late Shri Ramesh Goyal, has developed over four decades from a family-led cattle-feed operation into a broader animal-nutrition company.

The company transitioned into its current corporate structure in 2026. Akshit Ram Goyal serves as Managing Director, while Savita Goyal and Isha Goyal are Directors. The leadership represents multiple generations of the family that has been involved in the cattle-feed business since its establishment.

Alongside Sardar Cattle Feed, Sudharma Feed operates as another brand under Sudharma Animal Nutrition. The company says the two brands are part of its broader strategy for livestock nutrition, product development and market expansion.

Four decades in cattle nutrition

Sardar Cattle Feed began operations when branded cattle feed was still developing as a category in India. According to the company’s history, the business focused on balanced feed and the nutritional requirements of dairy farmers.

Over the years, the company expanded its presence across several states while retaining family involvement in its development. It also records several historical recognitions, including the Gold Medal from the Institute of Quality Control and National Character, Udyog Shree Award in 1990, Lok Shree Award in 1990 and Udyog Rattan Award in 1993.

These awards form part of the company’s historical record and are separate from current product-performance claims.

Feeding requirements vary by animal

Dairy cattle do not have identical nutritional requirements. Breed, age, body condition, milk production, lactation stage and the availability of green fodder can influence feeding decisions.

The company’s nutritional guidance highlights protein, energy, fat, minerals and vitamins as important components of an animal’s overall diet. It also recommends using concentrated feed alongside appropriate green grass or hay rather than treating cattle feed as the sole component of the ration.

The company recommends gradually transitioning animals to Sardar cattle feed over approximately seven to 10 days when changing from an existing ration. Its published feeding guidance provides different quantities for cows and buffaloes according to milk production. Individual feeding decisions may require professional nutritional advice.

Product portfolio covers multiple requirements

Sardar Cattle Feed has developed a range of products for different dairy-farming requirements.

Its cow-feed portfolio includes Sardar Gold Line C-3000, Sardar Red Label C-5000, Sardar Energy+ C-8000 and Sardar Booster C-10000. The products have different published specifications covering parameters such as protein, fat and fibre.

The company also offers buffalo-focused products, including Sardar Buff Booster and Sardar Buff+, along with mineral-focused supplements such as Sardar Min Forte and Sardar Cal Forte.

A broader product portfolio allows farmers and dealers to consider different formulations based on animal type and production requirements rather than relying on one formulation for every animal.

Manufacturing and quality control

Consistency in manufacturing is another component of the company’s approach. Sudharma Animal Nutrition states that ingredients used for Sardar cattle feed undergo pre-testing and quality-control analysis before processing.

The manufacturing process described by the company includes proportionate dosing, grinding, mixing, molassing and pelleting before the finished feed is packed in HDPE bags.

The company’s manufacturing facility is located at Village Kauri on G.T. Road near Khanna in Punjab. Sudharma Animal Nutrition Pvt. Ltd. identifies itself as the manufacturer of Sardar cattle feed.

Expansion beyond the North Indian market

Punjab remains an important part of the company’s operations, but Sardar Cattle Feed has expanded its presence into markets beyond its home state. The company is also working to strengthen its dealer and distributor network across India.

Its future plans extend beyond cattle feed into wider livestock nutrition. The company has stated plans to develop nutrition categories for cattle, goats and pigs while expanding its international business.

Exports of Sardar Cattle Feed to African markets are also part of its international development plans.

Focus on dealers and distribution

Dealers and distributors play an important role in connecting feed manufacturers with dairy farmers. Sardar Cattle Feed’s expansion strategy includes developing a wider PAN-India dealer and distributor network and establishing long-term relationships with channel partners.

For distribution partners, factors such as product range, manufacturing capacity, supply consistency, market presence and long-term business support can influence the potential of a feed brand.

Moving from a family business to a wider nutrition company

The development of Sardar Cattle Feed reflects the evolution of a family business established in 1984 into a more structured animal-nutrition organisation.

Under Sudharma Animal Nutrition Pvt. Ltd., the company is combining its long-standing cattle-feed experience with manufacturing expansion, a wider product portfolio, stronger distribution and international market plans.

As India’s livestock and dairy sectors continue to evolve, the company is positioning Sardar Cattle Feed as part of a broader animal-nutrition business. Its next phase will focus on expanding product categories, strengthening its presence across India and developing opportunities in international markets.
