EuroTier 2026 Seminar to Explore Advances in Animal Feed Efficiency

An upcoming seminar at EuroTier 2026 will bring together animal nutrition experts to discuss strategies, technologies and innovations for improving feed efficiency and livestock performance. Organised by All About Feed, the seminar will focus on optimising nutrient utilisation, improving production economics and supporting more sustainable animal agriculture.

With livestock producers facing pressure to manage production costs and use resources more efficiently, improving the value obtained from every kilogram of feed has become an important priority. The programme will explore practical feeding approaches, innovative nutritional solutions and developments in feed technology.

Feed Efficiency and Sustainable Livestock Production

Feed efficiency plays an important role in livestock profitability because feed represents a major input in animal production. Improving the utilisation of nutrients can help producers achieve better animal performance while making more effective use of available resources.

The seminar will examine factors affecting feed efficiency, strategies for feed optimisation and new approaches to improving nutrient availability. Discussions will also address how feed technology and nutritional interventions can support more efficient livestock production.

For dairy farmers, feed efficiency is particularly relevant because the relationship between feed intake, nutrient utilisation and milk production influences production costs and overall farm performance. Improved feeding strategies can help producers make informed decisions about ration formulation and nutritional management.

The seminar aims to connect technical developments in animal nutrition with practical applications that can support producers and the wider livestock industry.

Provita Supplements to Highlight Fungal Postbiotics

Dr Charlotte Heyer, Global Technical Manager at Provita Supplements GmbH in Germany, will present a session titled “Unlocking Nutrient Potential by a Dried Fungal Postbiotic.”

Heyer holds a PhD in agricultural sciences from the University of Hohenheim in Germany. Her professional background includes research at the University of Alberta in Canada and work with Trouw Nutrition. Her expertise includes feed ingredient evaluation and feed processing technologies aimed at optimising feed formulation and animal performance.

Her presentation will address the factors affecting feed efficiency, approaches to feed optimisation and the potential application of fungal fermentation postbiotics in animal nutrition.

The session will explore how these nutritional solutions may contribute to better utilisation of feed ingredients and support livestock performance. It will also consider the practical application of fungal postbiotics in feeding programmes.

The focus reflects growing interest in specialised feed ingredients and nutritional technologies that can help livestock producers improve the value obtained from feed.

Novonesis to Discuss Probiotics and Production Returns

Oscar Queiroz, Head of Global Portfolio, Ruminants and Silage at Novonesis, will deliver a session focused on turning feed inputs into measurable production and economic returns.

An agronomist with a PhD from the University of Florida, Queiroz has extensive experience in cattle nutrition and biosolutions, particularly microbial additives, enzymes and probiotics. He joined Chr. Hansen, now part of Novonesis, in 2015 and has contributed to the development and launch of cattle probiotic products, including Bovamine Dairy Plus, Bovamine Defend Plus and Bovacillus.

His presentation will examine the relationship between animal performance, production costs and output, highlighting how feed efficiency can influence the economics of nutritional interventions.

The session will also explore how improved nutrient digestibility and feed utilisation can contribute to milk and meat production. In addition, it will discuss the role of Bacillus probiotics in supporting nutrient utilisation, animal health and performance.

These topics are relevant to dairy producers seeking to evaluate feeding strategies not only through nutritional outcomes but also through their potential impact on farm profitability.

Industry Collaboration Supports Feed Innovation

Provita Supplements and Novonesis are the seminar’s featured partners, bringing expertise in feed supplementation, microbial solutions and animal nutrition.

Their participation highlights the role of collaboration between feed technology companies and livestock producers in developing practical approaches to improving efficiency.

As agricultural production faces increasing pressure to use resources sustainably, innovations in feed ingredients, fermentation products, probiotics and nutrient management are receiving greater attention.

EuroTier 2026 will provide a platform for industry professionals to explore these developments and consider how they can be applied in commercial livestock systems.

The seminar’s focus on feed optimisation, fungal postbiotics and probiotics reflects the industry’s broader effort to improve animal performance while managing production costs. For dairy and livestock producers, the discussions may offer useful perspectives on evaluating nutritional interventions and identifying opportunities to improve feed utilisation.

By bringing together technical expertise and practical applications, the event aims to support more efficient and sustainable approaches to animal nutrition.
