Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated an Ultra High Temperature (UHT) aseptic packaging plant of the Bhilwara Milk Producers’ Cooperative from the National Agriculture Science Council, Pusa, New Delhi.
The plant, the first UHT facility in Rajasthan, can handle up to 200ml packs, processing and packaging milk and milk products at high temperatures to extend shelf life up to six months. Initially, Saras Chhaachh, Saras Lassi, and Saras Cream will be packaged in 180ml packs.
Managing Director Divyam Kapuria stated the plant, built at Rs 46.82 crore, was established with technical support from the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The inauguration at the dairy premises was attended by Bhilwara MP Damodar Agarwal, BJP leaders, and cooperative officials.
The facility is expected to boost milk processing capacity, improve product shelf life, and strengthen Rajasthan’s dairy sector, benefiting both producers and consumers.
