Jaipur Dairy Celebrates 50 Years with Major Product Launches and Women Empowerment Initiatives
Jaipur, Rajasthan: Jaipur Zila Dugdh Utpadak Sahakari Sangh (Jaipur Dairy) marked its golden jubilee with a grand event at Birla Auditorium, unveiling a wave of new initiatives aimed at product innovation, renewable energy, and women empowerment in the dairy sector.
Among the key highlights was the launch of three pioneering schemes: the Saras Mayra Scheme, the Flexi Biogas Plant Scheme, and the Rooftop Solar Power System Scheme. These initiatives reflect Jaipur Dairy’s commitment to sustainable practices and socio-economic inclusivity.
The event also saw the rollout of 23 new dairy products, including the introduction of Saras Shrikhand in multiple flavors, reinforcing the brand’s focus on expanding its value-added product portfolio.
Women Empowerment at the Forefront
Chief Guest Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), lauded Jaipur Dairy’s inclusive model. “With over 80% of milk cooperative committees led by women, Jaipur Dairy is a shining example of grassroots empowerment,” she stated. She also emphasized the transformative role of financial independence for women, highlighting government schemes like MUDRA loans, which offer collateral-free financial support to aspiring women entrepreneurs.
Transformative Growth Over Five Decades
Rajasthan Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham applauded the dairy’s remarkable journey—from handling just 250 litres of milk a day to now managing 1.7 million litres daily. “Saras buttermilk outsells soft drinks in Jaipur, a testament to public trust,” he noted. “Jaipur Dairy has not just built a brand—it has cultivated a bond of trust and health.”
Agriculture Minister Joraram Kumawat shared that the Saras Mayra Scheme will be replicated across all 24 dairy unions under the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), scaling the initiative to benefit farmers across the state. He further highlighted Jaipur Dairy’s advances in food safety, quality assurance, and sustainable energy adoption.
Formalising Commitment to Women’s Growth
A significant milestone of the event was the signing of an MoU between the NCW and RCDF aimed at the holistic development of women in the dairy ecosystem. The agreement, exchanged by NCW Chairperson Rahatkar and RCDF MD, is expected to facilitate training, capacity building, and financial support for women in dairy cooperatives.
With innovation, inclusion, and sustainability at its core, Jaipur Dairy’s 50th anniversary not only celebrated a historic journey but also set the stage for a future driven by empowerment and progress.
