Being the highest producer and supplier of milk to the Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, Radha Timblo has been honoured with the ‘Best Woman Farmer in the State of Goa’ award for the year 2024 by the Indian Dairy Association (West Zone) comprising five states – Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa and Chhattisgarh.
The award was given to her in appreciation for efficient management of her farm at Cotarli, Sanguem.
Speaking at a press conference, Timblo, who is a founder of Shatixa Farm and Dairy, said the award has given her more confidence to plan for further boosting of milk production, and serve as an inspiration to the women folk to take up dairy farming.
She received the award at the hands of Union Minister for Roads and Transport Nitin Gadkari recently during the inaugural programme of National Conference on ‘Dairying – a tool for Livelihood, Health and Nutrition’. Adv Sanjay Malkarnekar, Sanjay Alberto, Dr Jaganath Dhuri, Orlando Rodriguez were present among others.
