In a significant move for the Indian dairy industry, the Rajasthan government has decided to revise its Dairy Booth Allocation Policy 2021 to streamline and expedite the booth allocation process across the state. A five-member high-level committee has been formed to review and amend the existing policy, ensuring greater transparency and efficiency.
The decision was taken during a joint meeting chaired by Dairy Minister Joraram Kumawat and Urban Development & Housing (UDH) Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra. The committee comprises senior officials, including Dr. Samit Sharma, Principal Secretary (Animal Husbandry); Prateek Chandra Shekhar, Director, Directorate of Local Bodies; Gaurav Saini, Commissioner, Jaipur Municipal Corporation; Shruti Bhardwaj, MD, Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF); and Manish Faujdar, MD, Jaipur Dairy.
As part of the revision, the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) is expected to gain the authority to allocate dairy booths across the state directly. This move is anticipated to help fast-track the pending allocation of 2,500 dairy booths, boosting the state’s dairy sector and improving market accessibility for producers.
Industry stakeholders believe this policy revamp will not only benefit cooperative bodies but also enhance consumer access to quality dairy products, especially in urban and semi-urban areas.
The revised policy is expected to be finalised and rolled out soon, further strengthening Rajasthan’s dairy market and supporting growth in the dairy cooperative network.
