RCDF: 50% milk samples found adulterated – DairyDimension

If you’re concerned about the quality of milk your milkman delivers or suspect adulteration, the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) has launched a proactive solution to address your doubts. Starting on January 10, RCDF initiated a statewide campaign titled “Doodh ka Doodh, Pani ka Pani”, allowing residents to test the quality of their milk free of cost.

The campaign has already uncovered alarming results. Shruti Bhardwaj, the Administrator and Managing Director of RCDF, revealed that out of 7,299 milk samples tested in the last 13 days, 3,475 samples (48.24%) showed water adulteration, while 1.41% contained harmful chemical adulterants. Notably, the highest levels of adulteration were detected in loose milk supplied directly to households.

“These findings are a wake-up call. Our primary goal is to create awareness about the importance of consuming good-quality milk for better health. People should test the milk they are buying and switch to higher-quality options if they find issues,” Bhardwaj emphasized.

Disturbed by the scale of the issue, Bhardwaj has written to the food safety department, urging a separate campaign to tackle milk adulteration. She stressed that many samples revealed significant water content, highlighting the rampant malpractice in loose milk supplies.

RCDF’s campaign offers a convenient way for locals to check their milk quality and underscores the need for stricter regulations and public vigilance. Protecting health begins with awareness, and initiatives like these pave the way for a safer future.

If you’re in Rajasthan, ensure the milk you consume is safe—get it tested and take a step toward securing your family’s health.
