Saras Dairy Recognised for Longstanding Contribution to Defence Supply Chain

Jaipur / New Delhi | July 14, 2025Saras Dairy, a key pillar of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF), has been formally honoured for its over four-decade-long contribution to the Indian Armed Forces by the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) and the Ministry of Defence.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented at a felicitation ceremony held in New Delhi, where Santosh Kumar Sharma, General Manager of RCDF, received the award on behalf of Saras Dairy and its affiliated unions.

The recognition celebrates Saras Dairy’s consistent supply of over 1 lakh litres of high-quality milk and dairy products daily to military units spread across Rajasthan, Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Assam—some of the most logistically demanding and sensitive locations.

The bulk of this supply is managed by Saras units in Jaipur, Alwar, and Bhilwara, which contribute the highest volumes within the federation.

Strategic Support to National Defence Through Dairy

Saras maintains an annual trade volume of ₹250 crore with the Ministry of Defence. The dairy’s commitment to hygiene, quality assurance, and delivery reliability has made it a trusted partner in India’s defence logistics.

This milestone recognition reinforces the growing importance of public-sector dairy cooperatives in not just nourishing civilians but also sustaining the nation’s defence forces.
