Twelve dairy farmers from Latur district received the Dhawal Kranti Award for their strong performance in milk production. The ceremony took place in Karadkhel, Udgir tehsil, and it drew wide attention from the local dairy community. The organisers aimed to recognise farmers who use better practices and achieve consistent results.
The award recipients were Satpal Reddy, Vishnu Kolgir, Navid Alikhan, Rajpal Birajdar, Santosh Patil, Rahul Rakshale, Pravin Ghuge, Ganesh Matankar, Vaibhav Wadkar, Parmeshwar Narahare, Ganesh Gurme and Ram Gangapure. Each farmer received a memento, a shawl and a coconut. These honours highlighted their commitment to dairy improvement and community progress.
Leaders Support the Dairy Sector
Former MLA Shivraj Tondchirkar presided over the programme. Babasaheb Thombre, Anil Bhikane, Ramrao Biradar, Vishwanath Mudpe and Girish Raghu attended the event as chief guests. Their presence showed strong support for scientific dairy management. Moreover, the speakers encouraged farmers to adopt better feeding, health care and milk-quality systems.
Cooperatives Drive Local Growth
The Laxmi Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society, Karadkhel, organised the ceremony. Dnyaneshwar Kanje coordinated the programme and later offered the vote of thanks. Vishwanath Mudpe introduced the event, while Kunal Ghungarde, Field Manager at MSD Animal Health, led the proceedings. Their efforts ensured smooth execution and clear communication.
Strong Community Participation
A large group of farmers, dairy producers, livestock keepers and local leaders attended the event. As a result, the ceremony created strong community engagement. It also reminded participants of the role dairy farming plays in rural livelihoods. Most importantly, the recognition encouraged more farmers to adopt progressive methods and aim for higher productivity.
