Alwar’s Dairy Sector Set for Overhaul as CM Bhajan Lal and Minister Bhupender Yadav Pledge Reforms

Rajasthan CM: Bhajan lal Sharma

In a landmark show of solidarity, thousands of dairy farmers gathered under the scorching Alwar sun at the Saras Dairy grounds, drawn by the promise of change from two influential leaders—Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, also the local MP. The gathering, one of the largest farmer congregations in the region in recent memory, signalled a bold new chapter for the dairy sector in Rajasthan.

The event comes amid growing discontent among dairy producers and cooperative members in Alwar, who have raised red flags about alleged corruption, operational mismanagement, and declining transparency within the Saras Dairy network. These concerns surfaced prominently during Bhupender Yadav’s Sansad Samvad outreach, prompting calls for immediate reforms.

“We cannot and will not allow the exploitation of our dairy farmers. If the community supports us, we will clean up the system together,” declared Yadav, receiving loud approval from the crowd.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed the gathering. He expressed admiration for the spirit of Rajasthan’s dairy farmers and reiterated his government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in cooperatives. He pledged robust support for structural reforms, transparency initiatives, and institutional strengthening to restore faith in dairy governance.

Minister Yadav emphasised Alwar’s strategic potential to become a leading dairy production hub in North India, powered by farmer-first policies, cooperative accountability, and infrastructure upgrades.

Insiders suggest that a task force may soon be announced to audit Saras Dairy’s operations and implement governance reforms in alignment with national dairy development goals.

This renewed political attention is also seen as part of a broader alignment with PM Modi’s cooperative-driven development vision, which positions dairy cooperatives as engines of rural transformation, women’s empowerment, and income generation.

The coming months will likely shape the future of Alwar’s dairy economy, with Bhupender Yadav and CM Sharma positioning themselves as reform champions willing to stand with the farmer at every step.
