Saputo International Services Inc. has appointed seasoned industry executive Ashwini Law as its new Head of Business Development in a strategic move underscoring its ambitions in the fast-growing Asia-Pacific dairy market. Law will spearhead Saputo’s international growth strategy, starting with establishing a regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Law made the announcement on LinkedIn earlier this week, where he expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with Saputo’s “dedicated entrepreneurial team” and to help deepen customer relationships in a region that is increasingly central to global dairy trade.

“I look forward to working with their very dedicated entrepreneurial team as we deepen our relationships in the market,” said Law. “We will be setting up a new office in Malaysia (KL) that will enable us to be closer and more responsive to Saputo’s customers.”

The decision to locate the new hub in Kuala Lumpur is strategic. With its well-connected logistics infrastructure, central positioning in Southeast Asia, and growing demand for value-added dairy ingredients and finished products, Malaysia offers Saputo a strong springboard into ASEAN and neighboring markets.

A Strategic Role at a Pivotal Time

Ashwini Law brings over two decades of experience spanning dairy markets, strategic sourcing, global supply chains, branding, and product development. He has held leadership roles with multinational companies across the dairy value chain and is widely respected for his ability to align commercial strategy with market-specific insights.

His new role will involve not just client engagement and business development but also enabling Saputo to deliver more responsive, localized solutions in Asia — a region with rapidly evolving dairy preferences, growing protein consumption, and expanding foodservice opportunities.

Saputo’s Global Vision

Saputo Inc., headquartered in Montreal, Canada, is one of the top ten dairy processors in the world. Through its various divisions and international arms, the company manufactures and distributes cheese, milk, cream, yogurt, dairy ingredients, and plant-based alternatives across over 60 countries.

The creation of a Southeast Asia base through Saputo International Services Inc. is seen as part of a broader pivot to enhance global competitiveness and capture emerging growth. The KL office will be instrumental in managing key customer relationships, onboarding new partners, and navigating trade, regulatory, and cultural landscapes more efficiently.

Next Steps

Law hinted that further announcements would follow in the coming months as Saputo scales up its regional footprint.

“Look out for more news and connections as we strive to better service Saputo’s existing customers and plan for onboarding new partners,” he said.

As dairy companies compete for growth in markets where health consciousness, premiumization, and protein-driven demand are reshaping consumption, Saputo’s Asia bet — led by Ashwini Law — is one to watch.
