Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar inaugurated a ₹90.70 crore automatic curd plant at Karimnagar Dairy, established with support from the Centre and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The advanced facility will enhance the region’s dairy processing capacity and promote value addition in milk products.
Speaking at the event, the minister announced that the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krushi Yojana will be implemented in four Telangana districts, Gadwal, Narayanpet, Nagar Kurnool, and Jangaon, with an annual allocation of ₹24,000 crore for six years.
Commending Karimnagar Dairy’s 27-year legacy, Bandi noted that it collects two lakh litres of milk daily, sells 40 lakh litres of curd, and provides livelihoods to nearly one lakh farmers. He appreciated Chairman Rajeshwara Rao’s efforts in generating 600 direct and 5,000 indirect jobs.
The minister urged the state government to support Karimnagar Dairy’s continued growth, highlighting its contribution to employment and rural prosperity in Telangana’s cooperative dairy sector.
