Mother Dairy Hikes Milk Prices by ₹2/Litre Amid Soaring Procurement Costs

In a move reflecting growing operational pressures, Mother Dairy, one of India’s largest milk suppliers, has increased milk prices by up to ₹2 per litre across all markets it operates in. The revision, effective immediately, comes amid a sharp surge in milk procurement costs linked to early summer onset and prolonged heatwave conditions.

The price hike applies to all major milk variants sold by the company—including full-cream, toned, double-toned, and cow milk—across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Bihar.

“Raw milk procurement costs have increased by ₹4–₹5 per litre in recent months,” a Mother Dairy official stated. “This price revision is a partial pass-through, designed to balance farmer interests with consumer affordability.”

Mother Dairy currently distributes around 35 lakh litres of milk daily in the Delhi-NCR region via its booths, general retail outlets, and e-commerce platforms. A noteworthy 70–80% of its milk sales revenue is passed directly to farmers—positioning the company as a major player in supporting rural dairy livelihoods.
