Mother Dairy Unveils Protein-Focused ‘Pro’ Range, Begins with High-Protein Milk ‘Promilk’

Plans Rs 1,500 Cr Expansion, New Plants in Gujarat, AP & Maharashtra

In a bold move to address India’s rising health consciousness, Mother Dairy has launched a new product range under the banner ‘Pro’, focusing on protein-rich everyday dairy staples. The first product to hit the market is Promilk, a high-protein milk designed for daily consumption and fortified with essential nutrients.

“In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a well-balanced diet is more vital than ever, with protein serving as a cornerstone of overall health.”

Manish Bandlish, MD, Mother Dairy

Promilk contains 40 grams of protein per litre, 30% more than regular milk, and is enriched with natural milk protein, calcium, and vitamins A & D. With a rich, easily digestible formulation, it is suitable for common daily uses—be it tea, coffee, curd, or chaach.

“Despite its availability, 70–80% of Indians don’t meet their daily protein needs. Our Pro range is built to close this gap—effortlessly.”

Priced at Rs 70 per litre, Promilk is one of the most competitively positioned high-protein dairy products in the Indian market. It will be available in 500 ml and 1-litre packs across Delhi-NCR through both offline and online channels, starting this week.

‘Pro’ Portfolio Expansion on the Horizon

Mother Dairy plans to expand the ‘Pro’ range with more protein-rich offerings such as paneer and curd (both pouch and set formats), reinforcing its commitment to nutritious, everyday food options that don’t require a lifestyle overhaul.

“We’re focused on building a comprehensive portfolio of protein-enriched dairy products that seamlessly integrate into the Indian kitchen.”

Aggressive Investments & Nationwide Growth

Mother Dairy will invest between Rs 1,400–1,500 crore over the next 2–3 years to scale production and infrastructure. The company, which currently operates 12 plants, is constructing three new facilities in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Nagpur (Maharashtra).

“Construction of the Nagpur plant has already started. These facilities will fuel our long-term growth.”

With this capacity expansion, the company expects revenues to jump from Rs 15,000 crore in FY24 to Rs 17,000 crore in FY25, and to Rs 20,000 crore by FY26.

Strengthening Digital & Retail Reach

Mother Dairy is also doubling down on digital transformation, having launched a mobile app for scheduled deliveries in parts of Delhi-NCR. The app facilitates milk orders from 50 dairy booths and grocery deliveries from 35 Safal booths. While not offering instant delivery, the app allows slotted deliveries—a model that already contributes 5–6% of booth-level sales.

“To meet the growing quick-commerce demand, we now have a dedicated team tracking product availability in dark stores.”

“We’re not just chasing trends—we’re shaping them. Our summer portfolio will reflect what today’s Indian consumer wants on their plate.”
