Nandini Ghee Makes Global Strides as Karnataka Expands Dairy Exports

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Tuesday that Nandini Ghee, produced by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), is now being exported to the United States, Saudi Arabia and Australia, underscoring the rising global demand for high-quality Indian dairy products. Speaking after flagging off the export consignment at his residence, Cauvery, he noted that the popularity of Nandini Ghee continues to grow both within India and internationally, reflecting strengthened consumer trust in the brand’s quality and purity.

The export initiative has been anchored by Kumar, a Mysuru native residing in the United States, who secured the contract to supply Nandini Ghee to overseas markets. KMF Managing Director Shivaswamy explained that the federation already exports a wide range of dairy products, including Goodlife milk, ghee, cheese, dairy whitener, butter, ice-cream, flavoured milk, sweets and savouries, to countries with significant Indian diaspora, particularly regions with a strong Kannadiga presence. The latest development marks the first time Nandini Ghee is being shipped to the US, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Demand from international markets has been robust, with 8 tonnes of Nandini Ghee ordered by Saudi Arabia, 5 tonnes by the United States and 1 tonne by Australia. This export momentum positions KMF as an increasingly visible player in the global dairy trade and reinforces the strategic importance of premium, culturally rooted dairy products in overseas markets.

The new export footprint not only showcases Karnataka’s capacity to meet global standards in dairy processing and packaging but also highlights the expanding appeal of Indian dairy brands across continents. As demand grows, KMF’s efforts illustrate how regional cooperatives can leverage quality, brand trust and diaspora networks to build a sustainable international presence in the dairy sector.
