NDDB, Milma to Host Seminar on Cooperatives’ Future in Kerala

The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and Milma (KCMMF) will co-host a one‑day state seminar in Thiruvananthapuram to mark the International Year of Cooperatives, emphasising “Prosperity Through Cooperation.”

The event, inaugurated by Kerala’s Minister for Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development J. Chinchurani, and with a keynote address from Cooperation Minister V. N. Vasavan, will gather cooperative leaders and experts to assess Kerala’s model and chart its future.

Running concurrently with NDDB’s diamond jubilee, the seminar will feature deliberations on cooperative challenges, dairy farmer welfare, and sustainable growth strategies under the UN theme “Cooperatives Build a Better World.”

The seminar will also highlight innovations in milk procurement, value addition, and market linkages that can enhance cooperative resilience and farmer incomes. Experts are expected to share best practices from other Indian states, promoting knowledge transfer within the cooperative ecosystem.

This initiative underscores the pivotal role of cooperatives in India’s dairy sector, serving as engines for rural employment, food security, and socio-economic upliftment.
