🚧 Jaipur Removes Illegal Saras Dairy Booths to Clear Footpaths

The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has launched a joint enforcement drive against illegal Saras Dairy booths across the city, removing four unauthorized structures in Vaishali Nagar. The initiative aims to reclaim public spaces, improve pedestrian safety and ease traffic congestion caused by encroachments.

The operation is being carried out in coordination with the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC), Traffic Police, and Saras Dairy following a decision taken during the JDA Traffic Control Board (TCB) meeting on July 22.

🚜 Three Categories of Violations

Authorities are targeting booths falling under the following categories:

• 🚫 Booths operating without licence renewal.
• 📄 Booths installed without official permission.
• 🏪 Licensed booths that have illegally expanded by adding kiosks, tea stalls, restaurants or seating on public land.

🛣️ 29 Illegal Booths Identified

According to JDA officials, 29 Saras Dairy booths have been identified as completely illegal and are scheduled for removal.

For licensed booths, only the portions encroaching on public land will be demolished, while authorized structures will remain.

🚶 Improving Pedestrian Safety

The enforcement drive forms part of a broader initiative to restore pedestrian spaces and improve urban mobility.

Officials stated that the campaign aligns with:

• 🚶 Directions issued by the Directorate of Urban Bodies.
• ⚖️ The Supreme Court’s June 19 ruling, which reaffirmed the right to safe and obstruction-free footpaths as a fundamental right.

📍 City-Wide Enforcement Planned

The authorities confirmed that the drive will continue in phases across Jaipur until all identified illegal booths and encroachments are cleared.

The initiative is expected to improve pedestrian access, reduce roadside congestion and ensure that licensed dairy outlets operate within approved regulations.
