Milky Mist Set to Make Splash in IPO Market This August, ETRetail – DairyDimension

Milky Mist Set to Launch India’s Largest Dairy IPO to Expand Value-Added Dairy Business

India’s premium dairy products manufacturer Milky Mist Dairy Food Ltd is preparing to launch what is expected to be the country’s largest dairy initial public offering (IPO) in the first week of August. The company plans to raise ₹1,553 crore to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and accelerate growth in the value-added dairy segment.

The IPO follows a successful ₹482 crore pre-IPO funding round completed in May 2026, backed by Jongsong Investments Pte. Ltd., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, valuing the company at approximately ₹9,300 crore.

IPO to Support Manufacturing Expansion

Milky Mist plans to utilise the proceeds from the fresh issue to:

🏭 Expand and modernise its Perundurai manufacturing facility

🥛 Establish whey protein concentrate production

🧀 Set up new yoghurt and cream cheese plants

💰 Repay existing borrowings

🚛 Strengthen cold-chain infrastructure across India

The company also plans to deploy additional:

❄️ Visi coolers

🍦 Ice cream freezers

🧊 Chocolate coolers

These investments are expected to improve product availability and strengthen distribution across key markets.

Focused on Value-Added Dairy Products

Unlike many dairy companies, Milky Mist operates exclusively in the value-added dairy products segment and does not sell liquid milk.

Its portfolio includes:

🧀 Paneer

🧈 Butter

🥛 Curd

🍨 Ice Cream

🧀 Cheese

🥣 Yoghurt

🫕 Ghee

🥛 Other premium dairy products

The company’s strategy aligns with rising consumer demand for premium, convenience-oriented, and protein-rich dairy products in India.

Strong Investor Interest

Before filing for the IPO, Milky Mist secured significant investor confidence through its pre-IPO funding round.

The IPO will consist of:

📈 Fresh issue of equity shares

🤝 Offer for Sale (OFS) by promoters

The issue size has been revised from the previously proposed ₹2,035 crore to ₹1,553 crore.

The IPO is being managed by:

• JM Financial
• Axis Capital
• IIFL Capital Services

Growing Importance of Value-Added Dairy

India’s organised dairy sector continues to witness increasing demand for processed and premium dairy products. Investments in whey protein, cheese, yoghurt, and advanced cold-chain infrastructure reflect the industry’s broader shift toward higher-margin value-added categories.

Milky Mist’s planned expansion is expected to strengthen its position within India’s rapidly evolving dairy market while supporting future growth in premium dairy consumption.

Outlook

The upcoming IPO represents a major milestone for India’s dairy industry and highlights growing investor confidence in value-added dairy businesses. By expanding production capacity and investing in modern infrastructure, Milky Mist aims to further strengthen its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing dairy markets.
